Ridgewood Open Studios, a local event where artists open their studios to the public, had been on hiatus since 2019 due to COVID. In preparation for its return in 2024, I contacted the organizers to help with branding. With a limited budget, the goal was to create a simple yet effective campaign to engage the local art community.

Approach
After an initial Zoom meeting with Lorimoto Gallery, we held a brainstorming session with local artists to define our strategy. We decided to focus on directly encouraging artists to register, leveraging their social media networks and word-of-mouth to promote the event organically. Next, we developed a logo and icon set, followed by a digital and print campaign.
Solution
After feedback and iterations, we finalized the branding. I collaborated with Lorimoto Gallery to create a landing page for sign-ups and event information, built Ridgewood Open Studios' Instagram presence through a social media campaign, and organized kick-off/networking events for artists to connect and collect promotional materials. We also secured press coverage to amplify the event's reach.

Next Steps
It was a pleasure collaborating with Lorimoto Gallery and the local Ridgewood art scene. We hope to maintain our momentum into the future and submit our work for proposals in the coming year. With more funding I’d like to build an app where participants can track events and studios as well as create routes and navigate to different areas of interest.
